Comments on: OpenERP and Ubuntu Unity Desktop Integration

Do you know why the HUD don’t work? I have OE 7.0 on Ubuntu Server 12.04, and my Ubuntu 12.10 Desktop, the module intalled fine, the work fine, but the HUD don’t work… any ideas?

Unzip the file on your addons folder (you should have a folder to extra modules on the server, and configure the openerp-server.conf with the addons_path option enabled), then (make sure you have a technical user in OpenERP -http://intellectseed.wordpress.com/2012/12/05/how-to-install-new-module-in-openerp-7-0/-) clic on installed modules, and, in the search box, quit the “instaled” filter… then you can install the unity integration module (in the “Aplications” page, only are the modules online).

Thanks!! It’s a great idea!! And we (and sure many other) will use it often… there is much work to integrate ubuntu in business, and certainly, this type of functionality it help

no, not tested it on 6.1 yet, I suspect it would work, or be adaptable to work. I am mainly targeting OpenERP 7 with various integration efforts I am doing but it would be great to have modules for 6.1 as well, that will be out there for some time at existing customer sites.

For me Ubuntu is the best OS for business users, this integration makes it even better

no, not at all. It is 100% Free Software released under the AGPL v3 – there is no crippleware or secret extensions anywhere.
