I&#039;ve never had a problem with a Linux kernel update.

One can actually do a **complete distribution** update easily on Linux if you simplay have a separate partition for /home. One can re-install the entire OS and all applications from a LiveCD or LiveDVD is 15 minutes or so, and then re-create the user accounts re-using the previous /home/user directories, and all is sweet. The user settings and files will all be preserved, and the applications as well as the OS will be upgraded for you, ready to run. It is many, many times easier to do than a Windows upgrade.</description>
