OT: Playlist

I came across Playlist.com a little while ago. What a cool idea! I’ve added the little player to my widgets selection so you can share in a few of my auditory jewels.

I’ve had a great time thinking about some of the songs that brought back really good memories of my misspent adolescence and early adulthood.

The track by Jimi Hendrix, “Hey Babe” is from the album Rainbow Bridge. It is simply stunning. It still makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up. Even after 25 years or so… (I don’t care what anyone else thinks but nobody. Nobody, has ever come close to playing the guitar like him)

My wife bought me one of those USB turntables for my Birthday and I managed to get a couple of albums (you remember them. The black discs of vinyl that are full of clicks and dust and scratches) converted to Ogg, but then my Dad saw it and borrowed it… I haven’t seen it since.

This playlist thing is great – I searched for these fairly old tracks and they all were available. I don’t quite understand where the recordings are actually coming from here. But then, perhaps I shouldn’t really ask eh?

If you have a few minutes, click on the play button over on the left and see what you think. Some of these are not very “mainstream” tunes (even though the musicians might be), but I really like all of them.
