I haven't tried it. I have never received a docx or other ooxml file so have never needed to but I'm sure others might find this helpful. Just for the record:

Of course, it is not meant to be a perfect replacement for M$ Office, but it will save you hundreds of pounds whenever you need to work with Open XML documents. I do agree that ideally, the documents should be in ODF. True, but my point is, it does provide a workaround.
